1. Take your chorale from Sibelius
2. Save it as a midi file
3. Open it in Finale
4. Add

a. Repeat sign
b. 8 more bars in a different key

i. Can be exactly the same if you don’t want to compose
ii. Use at least one of each of the following

1. Accents
2. Slurs
3. Dynamics
4. Key Change (Obviously!)
5. Add one more instrument for second eight bars

iii. Add “end barline”

5. E-mail it to me!

Band-in-a-Box Assignment

Band-in-a-Box Assignment (Due by July 8 at 6 pm)

1. Take a progression
2. Enter it into band-in-a-box
3. Record a melody first time
4. Generate a solo second time
5. Record melody third time
6. Change bass, piano and guitar to a different combo sound
7. Change melody to Alto Sax sound
8. E-mail to me!

Final Project

FINAL PROJECT (Due at the end of our last class)

For your final project you will take one (or more) of the various programs we have used this class and incorporate them into a week-long lesson for your class. This can be done by having the students using the software or by your use of the software to teach throughout the week.

The final to be handed in will include the following:

1. Lesson plan-brief description of what you intend to do in a lesson plan format
2. Day by day plan - not as intense as a full lesson plan-can be one or two sentences for each day
3. File you will use to help teach the lesson from the software you chose
4. Brief summary of how MIDI technology will help further the learning of your students – 1-3 pages, length is not as important as content!!!
